700C Carbon Road RimsThe 700C Carbon Road Rim is a lightweight, aerodynamic carbon bicycle rim designed for road bikes equipped with 700C wheels. It's a favorite among cyclists seeking performance, speed, and efficiency,

Features of Carbon Rims for Road Bikes
Lightweight Performance: We use Toray T700/800/1000 carbon fiber to manufacture our carbon road rims. High-quality carbon fiber construction significantly reduces rim weight. Lighter rims mean faster acceleration and easier climbing.
Aerodynamic Design: Carbon road rims can be molded into a deep, wind-blocking profile, helping you maintain your speed more easily.
Strong Power Transfer: Unlike aluminum alloy rims, carbon road rims offer enhanced lateral support.
Tubeless Compatible, Reduced Flats: All Carbon World carbon rims are tubeless-compatible, giving you a smoother ride, better grip, and reduced risk of flats.
One-Piece Technology: Compared to traditional three-piece rim manufacturing processes, our one-piece carbon fiber molding technology provides greater structural integrity and optimized power transfer.
Carbon Rims Road Production Processes

1. Material Preparation
Use aviation-grade carbon fiber materials (such as Toray T700 / T800) and cut them into multiple layers of prepreg according to design requirements to ensure that the direction, length, and thickness of each layer accurately correspond to the stress point.
2. Layup
Professional technicians manually lay multiple layers of carbon cloth into the metal mold in order. This step determines the strength, weight, and rigidity of the rim. Pure manual laying ensures product quality, and we strictly control the entire process.
3. High Temperature Molding
The mold is placed in a high-temperature and high-pressure oven (Autoclave) for curing. This stage ensures that the carbon fiber and resin are completely integrated to form a uniform and solid one-piece carbon fiber rim without bubbles or delamination. From material preparation to the molding process, our dust-free workshop always maintains a constant temperature. These measures are essential to ensure the consistency and excellent quality of our products.
4. Demolding and Trimming
After cooling, the rim is removed from the mold. The technician manually removes the excess resin from the corners and performs preliminary grinding to prepare for subsequent processing.
5. Drilling and Finishing
According to the design specifications, the rim is precisely drilled (spoke holes, valve holes, etc.), and the edges and inner diameters are calibrated by CNC machining to ensure a perfect fit with the wheel assembly.
6. Surface Treatment and Painting
Some rims are treated with matte/gloss varnish, while others retain the original woven texture to emphasize the high-end texture. Carbon World can provide services such as brand LOGO, decals, or pattern customization.
7. Quality Inspection (QC)
Each rim undergoes rigorous testing, including:
*Weight tolerance check
*Geometric accuracy test (roundness/symmetry)
*Impact test & high-voltage test
*Tensile and fatigue test
8. Packaging and Shipment
After the inspection is completed, the carbon rim road bike will be packaged and shipped to ensure that it arrives in your hands intact
How to Choose the Right Carbon Rim for Your Road Bike Rims?
Rim Height:
1. If you ride in hilly terrain or often encounter crosswinds, a shallow rim (25-35mm) is your best choice. It is light and easy to handle.
2. For mixed riding and all-around riding, a medium-height rim (38-50mm) strikes a good balance between aerodynamics and weight.
3. Deep rims (55mm and above) are ideal for flat roads, races, and time trials, where breaking through wind resistance is critical.
Determining the Internal Width
The internal width of a carbon fiber rim (the distance from bead seat to bead seat) is critical to the fit, ride feel, and performance of the tire. Choosing the right internal width ensures that the tire has the right shape, grip, and ride feel.
Rim Brake or Disc Brake
Rim brake carbon rims are lightweight and simple, suitable for climbing or racing riders.
Disc brakes provide stronger braking power and all-weather performance, which is obvious in rainy days or long descents, and are more suitable for wide tires and tubeless systems.
Tubeless Tire Compatibility
Tubeless tires can reduce flats and allow for lower tire pressures for a smoother ride.

Why Fish Scale and Diamond Textures Are Used on Carbon Bicycle Rims
1. Improved Braking Control
Early carbon fiber rims suffered from unstable friction on their smooth brake edges, especially in wet conditions.
Purpose:
Increase surface friction between brake pads and the rim
Create micro-edges for more even contact between brake pads and the rim
Help expel water and debris from the brake surface
Reduce braking delay and sudden lock-up, thus improving braking control.
2. Reduced Crosswind Sensitivity
Smooth, unobstructed rim surfaces easily lead to laminar flow separation, increasing lateral forces from crosswinds.
Textured surfaces help to:
Disrupt airflow in a controlled manner
Reduce sudden pressure differences on the rim sidewalls
Stable airflow adhesion around the rim profile
3. Reduced Yaw Angle and Improved Stability
Yaw angle is the angle between the wind direction and the direction of bicycle travel. At larger yaw angles, smooth rims can become unstable.
Fish-scale and diamond-patterned textures:
More effectively control boundary layer airflow
Delay airflow separation at different yaw angles
Reduce sudden aerodynamic torque acting on the front wheel.

Test of Carbon Fiber Road Rim
Carbon World's carbon fiber road rims undergo a rigorous battery of tests and inspections to ensure durability, safety, and race-ready performance:
UCI Impact Test
This test, approved by the International Cycling Union (UCI), simulates a real-world crash scenario by dropping a weighted impactor onto the rim. Rims that pass this test demonstrate their ability to withstand sudden impacts without catastrophic failure—critical for achieving race homologation.
Road Fatigue Test
Rims are subjected to constant vibration, bumps, and riding loads over thousands of kilometers. Fatigue testing replicates these stresses in a controlled laboratory environment, ensuring the rims maintain their integrity and performance over time.
Rim Longitudinal Stiffness Test
Stiffness directly impacts power transfer and handling. This test measures the degree to which the rim flexes under load. Higher stiffness means more efficient energy transfer and a more responsive feel.
Spoke Hole Tension Test
Spoke holes are stress concentrators, and testing ensures they can withstand extreme spoke tension without cracking or deforming, thereby maintaining consistent carbon road wheel balance and strength.
